Cave-House Juan De Dios in Castilléjar

Cueva Juan de Dios is a beautiful, semi-attached, sunny cave house located in a tranquil spot on the edge of the village of Castilléjar. This cave has been impeccably finished in a modern style that feels almost like a regular house inside. The house has a front patio and 3 terraces with stunning views of the woods and farmland. There is a separate finished room for wood storage or a workshop.

This property is located at the far end of a charming pedestrian square, with potted plants and benches for relaxing and enjoying the view. In front of the cave is a patio space. There is a gate leading to a small path along the side of the house. Above is a large, private gated terrace with views. Access to this terrace is currently via a ladder and stairs can be built. Parking is on the street.

Just outside the pedestrian square, a footpath takes you down to a workshop / firewood storage room that is fully finished and is connected to water and electricity.

Interior of the house

The cave house has an entrance hall that opens to 3 hallways. To the right is the magnificent contemporary eat-in kitchen. The kitchen has an entertainment sitting area and a wood burning stove with a built-in oven. The kitchen has electric oven and microwave inserts, a dish washer and a massive fridge, all from the quality Whirlpool brand. This section of the house is outbuilt and has windows with views of the countryside and of the patio.

To the left from the entrance is the beautifully tiled bathroom plus a built-in closet for washer and dryer, and a spacious double bedroom with wardrobe.
Straight ahead from the entrance is the large dining/living room with a delightful private covered terrace with a sitting area and gorgeous views. Directly opposite the entrance is the spacious living and dining room with a charming private terrace featuring a sitting area and magnificent views. Every detail of the terrace has been carefully considered, from the sliding glass doors with pleated curtains to the decorative iron railings and the retractable awning, which provides sun or shade.

From the dining room you enter a 3-room suite currently arranged as two double bedrooms (one quite large) and an office with sliding glass doors to a small private terrace with more wonderful views. As with the larger terrace, the sliding glass doors have been installed with pleated curtains and the terrace has decorative iron railings.

Throughout the cave and outbuild, lighting has been thoughtfully considered. The cave is very bright with glass doors leading to two of the terraces. The floors are light wood-look tiles and the furniture perfectly matches the decor. (The wood dining table is not included in the sale.)

If you want to combine the feeling of living in a modern condo with the benefits of living in a cave, this property is a perfect mix.
