In the other direction, you walk along a crest to discover the Mirador de los Capones, a panoramic glass lookout point above the village that was built in 2021 as part of the unesco geoparque de Granada project.

Galera is situated on the edge of the badlands near several mountain ranges, ideal for hiking, mountain biking and paragliding. There are turquoise lakes within a 20-45-minute drive. Each village has a communal pool, often fed by spring water.

Galera has restaurants, bars, banks, a weekly market and basic shops including two bakeries, a pharmacy, 2 grocery stores, a fishmonger and a natural food store.

The town of Huéscar is 15 minutes away, with more amenities and a 24-hour health center. The city of Baza is a 40-minute drive with large supermarkets and a regional hospital.
