This modest cave house is situated in a quiet neighbourhood road of the traditional Andalucian cave village of Castilléjar. It is a 10-minute walk down the hill to the village centre. The property has a spacious front patio with room for parking. There are views of the village and of the beautiful and dramatic badlands beyond.

This cave has been reformed to a basic standard and a few of the walls were recently repaired. The cave needs finishing such as plastering, painting and floor tiling or polishing. This would be a great low-priced property for someone with some building experience who would like to finish the cave walls themselves. We can refer you to local builders who can help you get started or who can complete the work for you.

The front door opens into the dining room with a fireplace and a wood stove. There are 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. One of the bedrooms is a walk-through that is used as the living room. The dining room and bathroom have traditional wood beam ceilings. The floors of the common areas are tiled. The bedroom floors are concrete. Outside, a wood beam arbour has been set up to create a nice sitting area on the front patio.

Castilléjar is a charming small village, surrounded by lush farmland and situated across the valley from the Castilléjar Badlands, also called the Baranco. Castilléjar has basic shops, restaurants, banks and a weekly market. The town of Huéscar is a 20 minute drive with more amenities and a 24 hr health centre. The region is part of the unesco geoparque de Granada, with several natural parks and mountain ranges, great for hiking and mountain biking. Near Castilléjar is a community swimming pool and there are turquoise lakes within 20-45 minutes.
